Key Summer Support Staff Positions Available

The Bluecoats are seeking highly motivated individuals to fill the key support staff positions of Tour Food Service Manager, and Tour Merchandise Sales Assistant.  Each summer the Bluecoats operate a fast-paced and high-energy summer tour, traveling nearly 12,000 miles by road and performing more than 30 shows, parades, concerts, and clinics around the United States.  Please see below for details on the positions available.

Tour Food Service Manager (1):


  • Oversee daily food preparation on Bluecoats Kitchen Truck
    • Prepare 4 meals per day for 200 people with assistance of volunteers
      • Meals must be ready at meal-times provided by administrative staff
    • Oversee and manage food service volunteers as they assist with meal preparation
    • Follow menu and recipes provided by administrative staff
    • Complete weekly inventory
    • Keep and store on-hand food in an orderly fashion
    • Follow food safety guidelines
    • Keep kitchen truck clean and tidy


  • Food preparation experience, preferably for large groups
  • Ability to follow recipes and directions as provided
  • Ability to prepare meals on-time
  • Cooking skills and experience necessary to prepare good-tasting meals
  • Food safety training, such as Serv-Safe

The Tour Food Service Manager will travel on the management team vehicle and be provided a horizontal bunk as their primary sleeping area. In addition, they will be provided four daily meals with the corps.  Compensation and travel reimbursement is available for this position.

Tour Merchandise Sales Assistant (1):

  • Assist with daily sales at Bluecoats Merchandise Booth during national tour, including use of point-of-sale system.
  • Assist with set up and tear down of merchandise booth and display at each show
    Fill online merchandise orders and prepare them for shipment.
  • Assist with preparing merchandise for sale, including folding, counting, and inventory.


  • Retail experience.
  • Ability to keep up with a face-paced, high-volume sales environment.
  • Willingness and ability to follow instructions from Tour Merchandise Manager and Bluecoats administrative team.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift at least 50lbs.
