2017 Staff Additions & Enhancements

The Bluecoats are proud to the announce the addition of Matt Jordan and Ryan Anderson to the corps’ already outstanding instructional staff.  Matt Jordan will serve as Assistant Music Ensemble Coordinator, and Ryan Anderson joins the Bluecoats as Battery Coordinator/ Tenors.  In addition, we are excited to formalize the establishment of a specific Electronics caption within the structure of our instructional team.  Leading this new caption will be longtime front ensemble instructor and sound engineer Erik Kosman. Alumni Feature: Bob Rohrbaugh

Bob Rohrbaugh marched in Bluecoats from 1974 to 1977.  His first performance was the Bluecoats’ first judged competition and Bob’s last performance was the corps first DCI prelim appearance in Boulder, Colorado in 1977.  Bob notes many fond memories from those beginning years, but a few stand out.

Bluecoats are DCI World Champions

After 44 years of operation, the 2016 Bluecoats are Drum Corps International World Champions.  On Saturday, August 13th, 2016 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, the corps walked away with its first ever gold medal, scoring 97.650 in it’s final competition of the season.  “Down Side Up” was a program that will forever change the Bluecoats organization, and the entire drum corps activity. Yerkeys inducted to Hall of Fame in 2016

We are proud to announce and recognize our latest inductees to the Bluecoats Hall of Fame. At the “Innovations In Brass: Massillon” show held on June 25 the President of the Bluecoats Board of Directors, Scott Swaldo, presented John and Suzanne Yerkey as the 2016 inductees.
