Randall Lamb retired as the Director of Bands at Newark High School (Ohio) in 2008. He has Music Education degrees from the University of Dayton (BM) and Morehead State University (MM). During his years at NHS the bands received over 40 superior ratings in State Finals in both marching and concert band events. The Pride of Newark was named Grand Champion 32 times during his years as director.
Mr. Lamb was selected as Newark City Schools “Teacher of the Year” and as “Music Educator of the Year” by the Columbus Symphony. He is active in OMEA as an adjudicator and as the chairman of the 2014 Ohio All-State Band. He has also judged in Kentucky, Indiana, and West Virginia. He performs as timpanist with the Heisey Wind Ensemble and is the drummer for the HWE Big Band.
Mr. Lamb has been a fan of drum corps, especially the Bluecoats, for over 40 years. He had former students march with World Class corps the Blue Devils, Madison Scouts, Glassmen, Boston Crusaders, Spirit of Atlanta, Capital Regiment and several with the Bluecoats. He joined the Bluecoats Board of Directors in 2014.
