Open conductor auditions take place at the December Musician Callback Camp. This callback camp is by invitation only for musicians.
ABOUT THE EVENT
The December Callback Audition Experience Event is by invitation only to all musicians on a “contract” or “callback” status. Open Conductor auditions will also occur at this event.
Students will work with our educational team throughout the weekend, as they make final casting choices for the 2024 drum corps.
Check-in on Friday will begin at 6:00p, with rehearsal beginning at 8:00p.
Students will be dismissed at 3:00p on Sunday.
Should you receive a contract at the December Callback Event, please be prepared to make a downpayment towards your 2024 fees. You will have the option to make a payment in person at camp or be sent an invoice in the days following camp. All contracts offered at camp with be sent via DocuSign to your email following the conclusion of camp.
Brass Performers - If offered a contract at camp and you’d like to check out a horn (based on availability) you will be required to make your $1000 downpayment before departing from camp.
HOUSING AND ACCOMMODATIONS
Bluecoats provides housing (overnight Friday and Saturday), meals, and ground transportation to students during the Callback Camp. We recommend eating a meal before you arrive.
You will need to bring sleeping gear (air mattress, sleeping bag w/ ground pad, pillow, blanket, etc.), shower gear (body wash, soap, towel, etc.), light athletic clothing that you can move in easily, and any rehearsal needs. Brass students - please bring a Bb marching instrument (F mellophone) if possible. Please do not fly with a marching tuba. We will have a limited number of Yamaha brass instruments available for use during camp. Front Ensemble and Battery equipment will be provided.
AIRPORT & GROUND TRANSPORTATION
For this event, Bluecoats provides ground transportation to and from Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) and Cleveland International Airport (CLE).
If you are flying and would like to request ground transportation, you must submit your flight information no later than Tuesday, Dec 12th at 11:59p Eastern. You will receive an email with shuttle information on the Thursday before camp.
Shuttles are provided on the following schedule:
Friday, Dec 15 (arriving): anytime before 7:00p - Pick ups start around 1:00 pm
Saturday, Dec 16 (arriving): 8:00a to 10:00a
Sunday, Dec 17 (departing): shuttle service begins at 3:00
We recommend arriving no later than 8:30p on Friday and 9:30a on Saturday. Please book travel for after 5:00p on Sunday.
If your flight arrives or departs outside of these times, we may not be able to offer a shuttle service for you, and you will be responsible for your own transportation.
You only need to fill out the transportation form below if you’re requesting a shuttle from Bluecoats.
