Legacy Arc

A Bluecoats Alumni Ensemble

Legacy Arc 10th anniversary logo.

Legacy Arc's purpose is to honor our past, celebrate the present, and cultivate a harmonious future by harnessing the power of nostalgia and our shared history. We are a community of dedicated and talented individuals, bound by the common thread of our Bluecoats Experience. We will foster a creative, inclusive, and collaborative environment and support the entire Bluecoats Community and our shared Mission, Vision, and Values.

Started in 2014 as a project to provide Bluecoats Alumni an opportunity to perform again, the Legacy Arc has been one of the most unique on-going alumni ensembles in the drum corps activity. A significant number of Bluecoat Alumni, from every decade the corps existed, have performed with the ensemble. The Legacy Arc is a low-commitment group of Bluecoat Alums, with participants receiving links to the music to practice prior to in-person rehearsals and performances. During the Winter and Spring months, Legacy Arc offers rehearsals based on member locations and availability. There are required rehearsals the day before and the day of the performance.

Brass participants do not have to memorize the music, though it is highly encouraged, but are expected to arrive with well-rehearsed parts. Due to the nature of the instruments, percussion participants will need to memorize their music. Brass players bring their own horn (we do have a few marching tubas available for those individuals). Most battery percussion is provided and dependent on enough individuals participating. Percussion participants will have zoom sectionals from March to June to help music preparation. Color Guard will have videos of the work available for rehearsing in late winter and may practice locally as available.

In 2023, the Legacy Arc returned to the field with about 50 total alumni participants, performing at the Bluecoats Opening Night Celebration and Party in the Plaza, which was rained out but not before our Bluecoats hornline and the Legacy Arc brass together played Autumn Leaves and The Boxer in the adjoining parking deck! Legacy Arc was also treated to the Bluecoats hornline jamming-out to tunes not in their 2023 production, The Garden of Love. It was an experience like no other!

Registration will open Spring 2025.
