CANTON, OH - This past Tuesday, also known as #GivingTuesday, the day following Thanksgiving when Americans donate millions of dollars to charity, Bluecoats made two important announcements surrounding its long-term development programs. The first is a monthly giving community similar to the membership programs of local public radio and television stations. This program, dubbed The Shield, will provide VIP experiences for its members including receptions at DCI and WGI events, and early media access to pre-season content. Bluecoats has been known recently to intensely guard each summer's DCI program information until the first show. Some of this information will be available to The Shield donors. Additionally, Bluecoats announced the start of an endowment fund - invested by the Stark Community Foundation in Stark County, Ohio. This fund - like those of its Higher Education counterparts - will invest the gifts of the Bluecoats constituents and allow for a longer, more lasting impact of their gifts. Starting today all Bluecoats donors have the option of directing their major gifts, stock transfers, and estate bequests to the Bluecoats Endowment Fund.
