Last night, we hosted a #movingINBLUE Town Hall for the Bluecoats community to come together and “move in blue” when we normally would’ve been celebrating the start of a new Spring Training and season. The group conference call was joined by over 200 fans, staff, parents, members, and alumni. It was incredible to see the faces of so many of our wonderful supporters! We feel the love and support of the Bluecoats community and we’re extremely grateful. If you missed the Town Hall, you can watch a recording here.

During the call, Bluecoats CEO Mike Scott and Bluecoats CFO/COO Genevieve Geisler shared a candid look at the state of the organization. At the beginning of May, we set a new 2020 fundraising goal of $350,000. This funding is necessary to fulfill our refund obligations and keep the Bluecoats organization alive and operating. The amount of support we’ve received is incredible and we’re almost halfway to our goal!

Every single dollar donated helps us get closer to our goal so we can continue offering the Bluecoats Experience not only to our 2020 members, but to young people for generations to come. We’re committed to our mission of providing life-changing performance arts programming and your support makes that possible.

$172,388 RAISED OF $350,000

We also heard from our 2020 Drum Major, Nick Kneupper, and a Bluecoats alumna and 2020 staff member, Kristen Eck, about how we’ve pivoted our programming to the virtual space. As a part of our Bluecoats In The Cloud programming we’re hosting daily mindfulness calls, weekly group workouts, weekly social events, and monthly full-corps camps. “It’s bean really meaningful to get to pivot the programming in that way and watch as all of these entities - student leadership, staff, alumni, the drum corps community as a whole - rally around and make sure that we’re able to offer something that can help develop our membership and help provide something that’s going to be helpful to all of us in this period of time,” said Kristen Eck. This has been an incredible reminder of just how strong the Bluecoats community is.

Then, we addressed a question we get asked a lot: “How can I help?” The willingness of our community to donate their time, send kind words, make a one-time donation, join The Shield, buy apparel or used equipment from the Bluecoats Marketplace or Equipment Store, or offer their support in some other way has been heartwarming. Thank you for helping us through this unprecedented challenge.

Last night we launched our new Helmet Campaign! For a limited time when you make a gift of $250 or greater, we’ll send you an official Bluecoats commemorative helmet as a thank you. These are the last of the Bluecoats helmets, a very special gift befitting such a very generous gift. So far we’ve sent 3 of the available 60 helmets! Make a donation and view our progress here:
