With over four decades of members, instructors, volunteers and administrators, Bluecoats is proud to recognize the achievements of those who created the legacy of the organization. There are three forms of recognition the organization annually awards:

  • Hall of Fame: Members of the Bluecoats Hall of Fame are individuals whose history of outstanding contributions and dedication is worthy of the highest level of recognition by the organization’s Board of Directors. 

  • Bluecoats Bloo Ribbon Award: Individuals are nominated for recognition as an outstanding performer of the Bluecoats or any of its affiliated programs (Bluecoats INDOOR, Artistry IN BLUE, Rhythm IN BLUE, Alumni Legacy Arc) and exemplified the highest standard of excellence as a Bluecoats performer both on and off the performance stage.

  • Bluecoats Unsung Hero Award: Individuals associated with Bluecoats are nominated for contributions to the organization that are vital to its operations in a behind-the-scenes role. Whether serving as a staff member, volunteer, driver, sewer, donor, or any other key supportive role, the efforts of the individual are exemplary of the excellence of the organization.

Nominations

Nominations for the awards are accepted at the beginning of each calendar year with a submission deadline of March 15th. Those selected for their achievements will be recognized at Bluecoats Innovations in Brass.

To submit a nomination you will need to include your nomination letter for the nominee and any supplemental letters of support all at once in the form. We recommend having your nomination letter and any supplemental letters of support saved as separate PDFs before you begin the nomination form.

You can submit 0-4 letters of support for Hall of Fame nominations and 0-2 letters of support for Bloo Ribbon Award or Unsung Hero Award nominations.

Only the first nomination for each nominee will be accepted. Additional nominations will be forwarded to the initial nominator and may or may not be included in the nomination at the initial nominator's discretion.

Nomination & induction timeline:

  • Early January: Nominations Open

  • March 15: Nomination Window Closes

  • March 15 - April 1: Nomination Committee Deliberates

  • Early April: Voting at Bluecoats Board Meeting

  • April - June: Communication to Inductees & Award-Recipients

  • Early August: Induction Ceremony at Innovations in Brass
