2020 Recovery Goal Surpassed!

$352,304 OF $350,000 RAISED!

Wow! We’ve raised $352,304 towards our recovery all thanks to you, the Bluecoats Community! Back in May, following the cancellation of the 2020 drum corps season, we announced a goal of $350,000 to support our recovery. This funding has helped us to fulfill our refund obligations and keep the Bluecoats organization alive and operating.

Achieving this goal means that the Bluecoats Community rallied together and raised more support than any other time in our history. Whether you’ve made a donation, joined The Shield, or shared a fundraiser on Facebook or elsewhere, we’re grateful. It means so much to not only the Bluecoats team, but also our participants past, present, and future that the Bluecoats Community has come together to show such incredible strength in a very difficult time. We’ve written history together and 2020 will be remembered as a year when you kept the Bluecoats Experience alive. One day this will be a Bluecoats History Night story that inspires our participants to know they are a part of something incredibly special and beautiful.

An extra big thank you goes to The Shield members who donate to us month in and month out. Donations made by the Sustaining Members of The Shield directly fund the programs that keep Bluecoats programs operating . We’ve reached a record-breaking number of The Shield Memberships during our 2020 recovery, with our peak amount of memberships at 241! Thank you to our most ardent supporters who continuously support our mission.

Although the 2020 season was canceled, we’ve been far from idle. Thanks to your support, we were able to launch a brand-new online school, Bluecoats School of the Arts, and introduce a new program along with it that provides music and dance education to students of Canton City Schools and Enrichment of Stark County for completely free, Learning Access. We also brought the Bluecoats Experience online through Bluecoats in the Cloud and established a Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Council as a part of our efforts to make Bluecoats a more inclusive place. And, of course, we’ve been very busy fundraising, but you know that!

Thank you again for your continued support of Bluecoats. None of this would be possible without you.
