Cook / Foodservice Assistants
Contractor - Touring
Bluecoats, Inc. is seeking one to two Assistant Cook/Foodservice Assistants to work on the foodservice team for the Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps for the 2025 summer season .
These individuals will work closely with the Food Truck manager and other food service workers and volunteers to prepare and serve meals to Bluecoats staff and students. A qualified candidate will have some foodservice experience, and be energetic and empathetic, and ready for the rigors of serving 900 meals per day on a 10,000 mile summer tour.
Responsibilities
Assist Food Service Manager with the safe preparation and service of 900 individual meals every day on a commercial kitchen food trailer. This includes the preparation and serving of agreed-upon special dietary meals as well as daily clean up and maintenance tasks.
Preparation management includes ensuring that all food safety procedures and policies are followed.
Requirements
Demonstrated abilities as a cook or in the foodservice / retail industries and/or previous experience working on a drum corps food truck
Signed Participant Safety Agreement
Available for full term of contract - beginning of summer season (May/June) to the DCI World Championships in (August 8-10, 2025)
Desired
Love of drum corps
Experience as professional cook or chef in commercial kitchen and/or drum corps food truck, particularly serving meals to large groups regularly
Compensation Range & Benefits
$500 - $650 per week, commensurate with experience
Contractor will travel to Bluecoats programming at Bluecoats’ expense
Travel, food, and accommodations are provided for the length of the engagement
