2016 off to an amazing start!

After hosting THE BLUE WAY Audition Experience camps in Austin, Texas; Canton, Ohio; Mission Viejo, California; and Milton, Georgia; over the course of the last several weekends, the Bluecoats’ 2016 season is off to an amazing start! While the corps has historically held winter audition and rehearsal camps in their home city of Canton, 2016 marks the fifteenth season of hosting camps in Texas, the seventh year of holding camps in Southern California, and the sixth year of auditions in the Atlanta area.  These camps allow hundreds of participants from around the United States and the world to audition for the Bluecoats, learn from Bluecoats instructors, and gain valuable experience.

“We couldn’t be happier with the outstanding pool of talent that we were fortunate enough to audition at our four audition camps. We sincerely thank each person who attended, and hope that everyone received an amazing experience working with our staff and returning members,” stated Executive Director David Glasgow.

Fifth year Brass Caption Head Derek Gipson, was extremely pleased with the results of the camps. “We were really pleased with both the new people auditioning at these camps, and the returning veterans.  We're looking forward to another great season!"

The next step in this year’s audition process is the January 8-10 “call-back” camp in Canton for those who were selected from the audition camps to continue on the path toward membership. There, prospective members will continue to work on performance skills and begin preparation for the Bluecoats’ 2016 Program. Stay tuned for a complete announcement of the corps’ 2016 show in the weeks to come.

While open auditions have ended, audition appointments in all sections of the corps will be granted on a need-only basis. For more information, see our audition information page!
