Bluecoats, Indiana Wesleyan University partner for 2018 Spring Training
Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps from Canton, Ohio and Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) in Marion, Indiana are pleased to announce that IWU will be the new home for Bluecoats’ spring training starting in 2018! Having served as Bluecoats’ housing site for the DCI World Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana since 2013, IWU has the perfect mix of outstanding facilities and excellent service uniquely suited to hosting the corps for their 5-week spring training. While on campus, the corps will have access to air-conditioned housing and multiple lighted grass rehearsal fields. In addition, Bluecoats will utilize the Phillippe Performing Arts Center, Troyer Fieldhouse Athletic Center, and the university’s new state-of-the-art football complex that will be completed prior to the corps’ arrival this spring.

“We’ve established an excellent relationship with both Keith and Indiana Wesleyan University in the last 5 years, and when we found out that we needed to search for a new home for spring training, we immediately put them at the top of our list,” said David Glasgow, Bluecoats Executive Director. “They have incredible facilities that will allow us all the tools necessary to set our 2018 season up for success.”
Indiana Wesleyan University will host Bluecoats from May 16th - June 20th, 2018. All rehearsals will be open to the public, but the corps asks that no video or still photography be taken of any of their activities while on campus. In addition, THE BLUE WAY Interactive Educational Experience, a weekend educational clinic side-by-side with members and staff of Bluecoats, will be held at IWU in Marion, IN on June 9-10 - stay tuned for details!
