WGI Percussion and Winds World Championships!

Congratulations to all the talented performers and staff who took the floor at WGI Percussion and WGI Winds World Championships last week! We were proud to see so many current and former Bluecoats bringing productions to life either as performers or as staff members!

At WGI Percussion World Championships we cheered Broken City along as they achieved a record-breaking finals score of 98.850, winning Independent World Class finals. Bluecoats Percussion Caption Head Roger Carter works with Broken City during the indoor season and many Bluecoats percussion performers are members of the group. Congratulations to Broken City on such a rewarding season!

Bluecoats’ 2017, 2018, and 2019 center snares all marched together this winter at Broken City!

Congratulations to Pulse Percussion on their second place finish. Bluecoats Battery Coordinator, Ryan Anderson, serves at Pulse Percussion as their Battery Manager alongside Bluecoats alumnus Connor Yasuda who works as Pulse Percussion’s snare tech!

Over at Music City Mystique, Bluecoats Music Coordinator/Sound Designer Matthew Jordan works at Music City Mystique as Co-Arranger. Bluecoats alumni Jello, Ben Heidrich, Joseph Reed, and Chase Dickinson are also a part of the Music City Mystique team. Congratulations to them on a successful season and third place finish!

Bluecoats has performers, staff, or admin members at all of the top nine indoor percussion groups: Broken City, Pulse Percussion, Music City Mystique, Rhythm X, RCC, Matrix, Monarch Independent, POW Percussion, and Infinity. It’s awesome to see so many members of the Bluecoats community succeeding in Indoor Percussion!

At WGI Winds we were excited to cheer on our friends in the drum corps community from Crossmen, Chromium Winds, Blue Knights Winds, and Music City Winds! Every group had their own compelling and interesting performance and it was a thrill to watch them.

Congratulations to Rhythm X who won Winds Independent World Finals! The program is run by Bluecoats Tour Manager Cody Schuster and the group was co-founded by Bluecoats CEO Mike Scott. Congratulations also to Orion Winds where Bluecoats Composer Doug Thrower serves as Music Arranger alongside other members of Orion Wind’s staff Amanda Lange and Samia Mooney who work at Bluecoats.
