We just posted our 2020 internship positions! We’re looking to create an intern team that will play an active and in-depth role in the execution of our summer tour and the development of our organization! The following positions are currently available:

  • Costuming Intern

  • Development Intern (1-3)

  • Foodservice Intern

  • Stage Management Intern (1-2)

  • Tour Operations Intern (1-3)

Costuming Intern

Bluecoats, Inc. is seeking to hire a Costuming Intern to work on the Production Team of the 2020 Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps. Candidates will be industrious and energetic with a working knowledge of sewing and alterations. Highly successful candidates will have an understanding of the modern drum corps activity and/or experience altering marching band or drum corps uniforms. The position will start in mid-May and last through the end of the corps’ Spring Training. There are additional engagement opportunities throughout the summer pending availability and need. The position is a volunteer position. Interns will have all housing covered during the course of the position. Four hot meals are provided nearly every day with the corps.

Development Intern (1-3)

Bluecoats, Inc. is seeking to hire between one and three Development Interns who will assist with fundraising and development of Bluecoats, Inc. during the 2020 Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps season. Candidates will be industrious, energetic, and interested in engaging in the fundraising and development work of a world-renowned performing arts non-profit. The term of the internship is flexible depending on availability and need. Ideally, work begins in early May through the end of Bluecoats’ Spring Training on June 18th. There are opportunities for remote work and event operations work at Bluecoats-operated DCI events throughout June, July, and August. Interns will be invited to attend the DCI World Championships in early August. The position is a volunteer position with some stipends offered for travel to the engagement. Interns will have all housing covered while on-site with the corps. Four hot meals are provided nearly every day with the corps.

Foodservice Intern

Bluecoats, Inc. is seeking to hire a Foodservice Intern who will assist with the foodservice operations of the Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps. Candidates will be industrious, energetic, and interested in engaging in work behind the scenes on a commercial kitchen truck. The position can either be for Spring Training only, Tour Only, or for the entire 2020 season. The position is a volunteer position with some stipends offered for travel to the engagement. Interns will have all housing covered during the course of the position. Four hot meals are provided nearly every day with the corps (that you’ll cook yourself!)

Stage Management Intern (1-2)

Bluecoats, Inc. is seeking to hire one to two Stage Management Interns who will assist in developing, maintaining and organizing scenic and production elements for the 2020 Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps Spring Training and/or Summer Tour. Candidates will be industrious, energetic, and interested in engaging in work behind the scenes producing a major national production. Highly successful candidates will have a working knowledge of the modern drum corps activity. This position can be for Spring Training, Summer Tour, or both. The position is a volunteer position with some stipends offered for travel to the engagement. Interns will have all housing covered during the course of the position. Four hot meals are provided nearly every day with the corps.

Tour Operations Intern (1-3)

Bluecoats, Inc. is seeking to hire between one and three Tour Operations Interns who will assist in the management of the 2020 Summer Tour of the Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps. Candidates will be industrious, energetic, and interested in engaging in work behind the scenes, managing, operating and producing a nation-wide summer tour. Highly successful candidates will have a working knowledge of the modern drum corps activity. The position will start in mid-May and last until the end of the season at the DCI World Championships, ending August 9th. The position is a volunteer position with some stipends offered for travel to the engagement. Interns will have all housing covered during the course of the position. Four hot meals are provided nearly every day with the corps.

Foodservice Manager

Bluecoats, Inc. is seeking to hire a contractor from mid-June to early August to manage the tour foodservice operations for the Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps. This individual will manage a team of between three and seven volunteers, as well as the Assistant Foodservice Manager. A qualified candidate will have experience managing a commercial kitchen, be energetic and empathetic, and ready for the rigors of serving 900 meals per day on a 10,000 mile summer tour.

Assistant Foodservice Manager

Bluecoats, Inc. is seeking to hire a contractor from mid-June to early August to work on the foodservice team for the Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps. This individual will help manage a team of between three and seven volunteers, working closely with the Foodservice Manager and Head Chef. A qualified candidate will have some foodservice experience, and be energetic and empathetic, and ready for the rigors of serving 900 meals per day on a 10,000 mile summer tour.

Commercial Driver (CDL A and CDL B Needed)

Bluecoats, Inc. is seeking to hire independent contract drivers from mid-June to early August to drive the Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps staff coaches and semi trailers. Candidates will be familiar with the rigors of a drum corps tour, will have a CDL A and/or B, and may have Passenger Endorsement. These drivers are available full time from the start of the 2020 Bluecoats summer tour until the end of the season at the DCI World Championships, ending August 9th. We’re particularly excited to hire a driver that has a love of drum corps and the Bluecoats, cannot wait to drive all night and sleep all day, and eat from our food truck! Four hot meals provided every day!

Commercial Driver (Merchandise Box Truck & Trailer)

Bluecoats, Inc. is seeking to hire a contractor from mid-June to early August to drive the Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps merchandise rig and serve as a swing commercial driver for our tractor trailers, staff sleeper coaches, or both. Candidates will be familiar with the rigors of a drum corps tour, will have a CDL A and/or B, and may have Passenger Endorsement. These drivers are available full time from the start of the 2020 Bluecoats summer tour until the end of the season at the DCI World Championships, ending August 9th. We’re particularly excited to hire a driver that has a love of drum corps and the Bluecoats, cannot wait to drive all night and sleep all day, and eat from our food truck!
