Bluecoats Welcomes Jeff Mlakar to Board of Directors

At the recent Annual Meeting of the Corporation, the Bluecoats Board of Directors elected Jeff Mlakar as the organization’s newest Director At Large. Jeff’s connections to the drum corps activity, leadership in higher education and technology, and passion for non-profit leadership and volunteerism makes him an excellent addition to our organization’s board and to our continuing commitment to our mission, vision, and values.

Jeff Mlakar, Bluecoats Director at Large

Jeff currently serves as Assistant Director of Visualization in The Interactive Commons at Case Western Reserve University, where his work focuses on creating large-scale shared holographic experiences for education and the arts. Jeff holds degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Michigan, combining technical expertise with creative application. He is also involved in volunteer work through Project Serve at the Church of St. Dominic in Shaker Heights, OH.

Jeff’s connection to drum corps comes from his experience as a drum major with the Glassmen. Serving on the board represents an opportunity for him to support and advance what he considers the “greatest activity ever created.” He brings both professional insight and personal passion to his role with Bluecoats. A unique highlight of his career includes presenting at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
