Merchandising Sales Associate
Contractor - Touring
Bluecoats, Inc. is seeking to hire 1-2 Merchandising Sales Associates for the 2025 season. The Merchandising Sales Associates will work with the Merchandise Coordinator to prepare items for sale, set up at event sites, and sell merchandise during events. This individual will report to the Merchandise Coordinator.
We’re particularly excited to hire Merchandising Sales Associates that have a love of drum corps and experience with drum corps merchandising and/or retail sales.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist Merchandise Coordinator with running the Bluecoats merchandise sales booth at DCI shows and other locations
Fold, tag, track, and process merchandise
Sell merchandise
Assist with breakdown and setup of booth
REQUIREMENTS
Retail experience (preferred)
Friendly customer service-oriented attitude
Ability to take direction from Merchandise Coordinator
Applicant must be 21+
TRAVEL, SCHEDULE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Contractor engagement has a flexible start date between mid to late June and ends August 9th. Preference will be given to those with the most availability
Contractor will travel to Bluecoats programming at Bluecoats’ expense
Travel, food, and accommodations are provided for the length of the engagement
Compensation based on length of engagement

Bluecoats, Inc. is seeking applications to be considered for open seats on the Bluecoats Board of Directors. These available Director At Large positions are for seats opening in January at the Annual Meeting of the Corporation. Directors At Large are the highest level of governance at Bluecoats, and collectively hold fiduciary responsibility for the Nonprofit Corporation. The Board hires the CEO, and in cooperation with the CEO, creates the strategic vision for the organization.

CONTRACTOR - TOURING
Bluecoats is seeking many PA’s, RN’s, BSN’s, Physical Therapists, Orthopedic/General Medicine Doctor’s who will join our Sports Medicine team this summer. This position will consist of small periods throughout the summer to fill gaps between our ATC’s being on and off this year’s session (late-May to August 10, 2024). The Medical Professional will have one full day off per week, accompanied by a 2-3 hour break each day. These segments will be worked with an ATC as well as athletic training interns from various schools across the states.
Certification & Licensure: Health Care professionals must meet all license and certification requirements pertaining to their profession in the state of Ohio.
Education: Must meet all educational requirements pertaining to their degree and profession.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY
Applied Knowledge: Medical Professionals must have knowledge of a wide range of orthopedic and general medical problems. Assessment and evaluation skills and working with other healthcare professionals will be required.
Decision-Making Skills: Ability to think critically and make independent decisions regarding the assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and return to activity decisions per state licensure guidelines.
Attention to Detail: Medical Professionals should be thorough and detailed with injury tracking and documentation
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively in high stress/pressure situations when talking to patients, medical professionals, staff and families.
Must have strong communication skills.
Must have the ability to organize, prioritize and perform multiple tasks with little or no supervision.
Must have the ability to demonstrate fitness exercises and maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of the assigned duties and responsibilities.
Must have an anatomy and physiology background.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Depending on Scope of your Profession)
Provide onsite care and management of activity and non-activity related injuries and illnesses including: prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation.
Apply dressings/bandages, tape, braces and splints in accordance to appropriate injury management.
Perform manual therapy techniques as indicated by patient’s treatment plan, within the scope of practice regulations in Ohio.
Provide patients with referrals to physicians as necessary.
Develop and Implement rehabilitation programs for injured participants.
Minimize risk of injury through awareness, education and ergonomic recommendations.
Provide functional assessment to determine a participant’s readiness to return to full duty.
Perform administrative duties, medical record documentation, medical resources management and maintenance, and other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer.
Provide case management for all patients.
Assist in developing individual exercise plans for participants.
Must be familiar or become familiar with the job requirements, techniques, and training associated with the various aspects of performing arts.
Track and analyze injury data and provide reports to Head Athletic Trainer
Provide general health and nutrition education.
Athletic Trainer will work on a team of other Athletic Trainers, Athletic Training interns, and at least one additional medical professional and/or medical administrator, including EMTs, RNs, MDs, etc.
This Medical Team will be responsible for the collective treatment of approximately 155 program participants.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is of medium demand including occasional lifting/carrying of greater than 15 pounds, visual acuity, communication, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate equipment. The following movements may be required to perform essential functions: sitting, standing, reaching, walking, running, twisting, climbing, balancing, stopping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting.

Athletic Trainer (ATC)
CONTRACTOR - TOURING
Bluecoats is seeking one Athletic Trainer (ATC) who will join the medical team under the direct supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer. This position will consist of two separate 3-week periods throughout the summer (late-May to August 10, 2024). The Athletic Trainer will have one full day off per week, accompanied by a 2-3 hour break each day. These segments will be worked with another ATC as well as athletic training interns from various schools across the states.
Certification & Licensure: Must be BOC certified and possess Ohio state athletic training licensure, certification or registration. NPI Number Required. ATCs licensed in any other state will be required to obtain licensure in Ohio. Assistance may be provided. CPR/AED and first aid certified is required
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree

Drivers - 26' Box Truck / RV

Bluecoats is seeking to hire several contractors from July 2nd to August 13th to drive Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps box trucks and a staff RV. Candidates will be comfortable driving a 26’ straight (box) truck and/or medium-size RV, and are available for 2 - 6 week periods from July 2nd to until the end of the season at the DCI World Championships, ending August 13th.
We’re particularly excited to hire drivers that have a love of drum corps and the Bluecoats, cannot wait to drive all night and sleep all day, and eat from our food truck! Four hot meals provided every day!
This is a paid position, compensation commensurate with experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Safely operate a + 10,000 lb GVWR straight truck and/or a medium-size RV
Travel more than 8,000 miles of tour, plus approximately 4,000 miles between housing sites and show venues.
Comfortable maintaining a nocturnal schedule, driving all night, sleeping during the day, then awaking in time to travel to the Bluecoats’ show venue in the late-afternoon/evening.
Working comfortably with a team of 10+ drivers as well as the Bluecoats operations team and the Bluecoats merchandising team.
Be willing and able to drive a semi trailer and/or bus in the fleet as a swing driver (utilized in the event of long-haul trips, certain hours-of-service scenarios, and in case of a driver leaving tour for any reason.)

Bluecoats is seeking to hire an independent contract driver from July 2nd to August 13th to drive the Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps staff coaches.
Candidates will have a valid CDL A or CDL B license with Passenger (“P”) endorsement. These drivers are available full-time from the start of the 2023 Bluecoats summer tour on July 2nd until the end of the season at the DCI World Championships, ending August 13th.
